Beckman Coulter Life Sciences wins SelectScience® award for best new Clinical Instrumentation of 2020

DxFLEX Flow Cytometer Chosen by Scientists to Receive Prestigious Award

Indianapolis — (July 28, 2021) — Voted on by scientists in countries around the world, the DxFLEX Flow Cytometer from Beckman Coulter Life Sciences has received the Scientists' Choice Award® for Best New Clinical Instrumentation of 2020 from SelectScience®. The award was announced at the SelectScience Virtual Clinical Science Summit held June 23.

The DxFLEX is Europe’s first CE-IVD, 13-color clinical flow cytometry system and expands laboratory testing capabilities, especially those focusing on user-defined assays. Launched in January of 2020, the DxFLEX Flow Cytometer boasts advanced sensitivity and intuitive software making it easy for both novice and expert technicians to use while reducing manual workflows.

“Innovation is what drives us, and we are committed to providing our customers with instruments that will accelerate answers in the most efficient way possible,” said Greg Milosevich, President of Beckman Coulter Life Sciences. “We’re thrilled our products could help guide the way forward during the pandemic. We thank those on the frontlines who trusted and turned to us for solutions and voted for us in this prestigious category.”

SelectScience® began the Scientists' Choice Awards® in 2007 to celebrate laboratory products and manufacturers that make a significant difference to the industry of science. Scientists are invited to nominate, review, and vote for products and services online. Nominations are assessed by SelectScience® editors, who compile the finalists and then invite scientists to vote for their favorite products within each category.

The compact DxFLEX Flow Cytometer features a highly sensitive semiconductor electronic device that converts light to electricity using avalanche photodiode technology (APD) compared to traditional photomultiplier tube (PMT) flow cytometers. APD technology delivers higher content research analysis and can deliver greater confidence in results by reducing compensation spillover.

The DxFLEX Flow Cytometer comes with ready-to-use quality control (QC) beads and is available in four configurations, from a one-laser/five-color system to a three-laser/13-color configuration. An optional autoloader, with a 32-position MCL carousel and an adapter* for 96-well plates, can be added to each configuration. The DxFLEX Flow Cytometer is available in China, India, Japan, Europe, and countries that accept the CE mark as the basis for their country-specific registration.
